The Department of Natural Resources have issued the Gold Coast Kart Club a licence over 180 acres of land at Lot 42 of RP31985 Beaudesert Nerang Connection Road.
This secures the land for a period of 12 months which will enable the committee to carry out the necessary enquiries and discussions with government with the view to the possible construction of a track on this particular site.

As previously advised there is still 2 other sites currently in negotiation and we will advise members in due course.

Thanks again for your support
Best regards

The Gold Coast Kart Club Committee

On the  1st of July 2008, Mr Rod Green, The clubs President tendered his resignation due to personal reasons.  As per the clubs model rules I,  Pat Buckley was elected president at a committee management  meeting held on the same day,  1st July 2008.
It was also decided to leave the vice president position vacant until our annual general meeting due to be held in November.
I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the committee and the club members to thank Rod for his efforts with the dismantling of the track and  his imput to date in the clubs relocation.  I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the current club members who still support our club and have stuck by us.

Let me assure you all this committee are striving towards providing the best karting facility in Australia.  As most of you are aware, securing land suitable to the clubs needs and the stringent requirements of local government has proven a difficult exercise, however I can inform you that we are making sigificant inroads with several meetings planned with council and government officals over the coming weeks.

We have identified two possible locations.  We are also preparing material to support our plight as a real community asset.  Preliminary statsitics support that persons with karting experience have a greater chance of survival on our roads.
I feel confident that in the not to distant future we will be in a position to make some significant announcements in relation to the clubs new location.

In the meantime,  Thankyou for your continuing support.

Regards

Pat Buckley
President
Gold Coast Kart Club
